I know the feeling... the clock is turning over for me in a couple of days and I'm not really looking forward to it. Particularly the "ypu sure look good for your age" comments. Funny, I never imagined what I'd feel like, never contemplated reaching this point.
We each deal with the grief of losing a loved one (especially parents) in our own ways and times. You feel what you feel and while grief support groups can help, it is a lonely road to walk. All of us have to walk it sooner or later. I walked it after losing my Dad 14 years ago and the day will come when I walk it for my Mom. Just know you have the prayers and good thoughts of a lot of people.

"I saw to what extent the people among whom I lived could be trusted as good neighbors and friends; that their friendship was for summer weather only; that they did not greatly propose to do right; that they were a distinct race from me by their prejudices and superstitions."
Henry David Thoreau

I always enjoy your stories and your cooking posts. You've given me many good meal ideas. I hope you feel better soon.
