Nathan Fillion + Steampunk! ...I didn't know Captain Tightpants was even back on TV, but he is, on one of the $GENERIC POLICE DRAMAS that I routinely ignore.
Next Monday, maybe not so routine.

Castle is a pretty good show. i only started watching it because of Nathan Fillian. give it a try.
I concur. Castle is worth a look.
Castle is a fun show.
Light and totally unrealistic TV cop show, of course, that lives entirely on the chemistry between its two leads. That chemistry works very well indeed.
It's a Monday night staple in our home

Castle is good, but this scene from last year makes it great.
Fillion as Castle as Mal
God, I wish Firefly was resurrected! Stupid $^&%$& Frackin' Network Programmers!
Castle is the only show we go out of way to watch these days. Definitely check out some of the older episodes on Hulu. There are several Firefly references in season 1 and 2.
It's TV, not rocket science, but all the characters/actors are great not just the leads.
Castle is good fun. And as was pointed out there are some pretty funny Firefly references in there. You can find a lot of them on youtube.
I you have the means, watch the show in episode order. It shows the development of the characters, and their relationship (including some minor characters). And, for those interested, Stana Katic is an amazing looking woman!
"I heard a sudden sound, as of a million Steampunk Browncoats squeeing..."
Is "Steampunk Browncoat" redundant?
WV: droni. Alternate plural form of "mundane."
I wish I had a TV. :(
Honestly, Castle is not all that bad - oh, sure, the "mysteries" are formulaic enough that even my dumb ass has figured out whodunnit halfway through the episodes, but the rapport between Castle and his police handler (in addition to Mutt and Jeff) is quite entertaining. The only downside is that, at least once an episode, Captain Tightpants comes shining through Castle's character, and then I really miss Firefly...
Drang: Steampunk Browncoat is not redundant, but there were variations based on locality. See, you had your Urban Steampunk Browncoats who used break-top .38 S+W's like the Hopkins and Allens, while the Western Steampunk Browncoats used, well, see "The Outlaw Josey Wales" for details. Now, during the 20th. Century, weapons designed by John Moses Browning were used to good effect against the Revenuers in Appalachia...
As a fellow bibliophile, you should check out "Mr Castle's" webpage on Amazon.

The first Nikki Heat novel (as discussed on the tv show) has been published. I haven't read it yet, though I picked up the paperback a couple of months ago. The small type used isn't friendly to my eyes.
Mycroft
It just finished and Wow! That was very gun friendly, if not... um... accurate. :)
