I like it too, but it might be cheaper to just go blow something up and take a picture of it and paste it round an existing lamp. Never pass up a chance to blow something up for fun.
Better still, approximate as a series of 0.75"-thick horizontal slices, cut out from wood or clear plastic,stack, glue and enjoy.
The clear version could then be sanded and carved to full, rounded shape. It'd take for-frickin' ever (helps if you know someone with a CNC laser cutter) but oh, the kewlness.

...a little pricey, and I'm guessing hard to dust...?
(It would be cool to watch The Atomic Cafe by, though!)
When you said a little pricy, I was thinking the $200-300 range...I was kind of unprepared for $1400...luckily I wasn't drinking anything at the time.
Could you not make the real thing for that cash now? Just sayin'. It IS cool though!
+1 on Guffaw on watching the Atomic Cafe! (I have it on DVD so am I a nerd?)
Me likey.
@Keads - Thanks!
I had it on VHS, gone now. AND,
'It Came From Hollywood'. for which the rights are too expensive for DvD, so they won't make it!
Not to put too fine a point on it, but it looks more like a radioactive head of cauliflower than a nuclear mushroom cloud.

Oh-h-h, nice.
But for that price, I want the glow to keep me warm in the winter as well...
