Sad,
scary world -- saw a guy standing by a freeway exit holding up a sign
saying, "Will kill your enemies for food," and I'm still not sure if he
meant food in exchange or if he was explaining his disposal method. Ew.
(Well -- he was facing the wrong way on a one-way street, standing so you could only read his sign if you were zooming down the off-ramp. I was on the one-way and saw his sign in my rearview, so perhaps I misread it.)
Crossposted from the Book of Face, where a commenter added, "I'm thinking GROUPON." Oh, dear!

Sign-writting Zombie? In Indy? Roseholm going to Def-con 1?
Haven't seen that one, but have seen plenty of the run-of-the-allegedly-out-of-work others.
Personally I suspect that holding begging signs all day IS their job.
During the Clinton years we had a gentleman stand on a busy street corner with a sign that read:
WILL BE PRESIDENT FOR SEX
Gerry
Fuzzy: Don't know about Indy, but I saw a lady in Dublin who seemed to have made a career of it. I walked past her one morning as she sat on the front steps of a building, whining at people to "help the children" as a couple of dirty-faced waifs sat at her feet. I dropped a few coins in her cup and she mumbled thanks. On the way back that afternoon I saw her from a distance as a shiny silver Mercedes pulled up and she and the kids climbed inside.
Did he provide a phone number or contact information? Willing to travel?
I can think of over 535 enemies I have in the DC area. He'll be well fed for quite some time.
Dave H,
P.J. O'Rourke once commented on this phenomenon, referring to panhandlers in Washington DC who walked around the corner at night to where their luxury cars were parked in the garages and drove to their homes in the suburbs.
I think I met a few of them in 1995, down by the DC Hard Rock Cafe.
I have always since given panhandlers short shrift.
Okaaayyyy, THAT is a strange one...
That one deserves a call to the local po-po. Hopefully you mis-read the sign, but if someone is willing to think it is OK to advertise murder, they may be a little more dangerous than the run of the mill alcoholic, drug addicted or crazy homeless person.
