I Suppose...

...I should offer up some insightful, pithy commentary on Black Friday, commercialism, plastic junk, Ferguson protesters, people who camp out all night to save $50 on a big-screen TV or the frikkin' insanity in mall parking lots on this day, but in fact I ain't gonna.

This stuff is fun or fulfilling for some people.  I'm not one of 'em.

I'm gonna go make mashed-potato pancakes.

Update: They're not world-beaters -- I haven't made potato pancakes in forever -- but they're not bad.  Especially with some peri-peri sauce.   I'm reminded I should make some nice Midwestern salmon patties this winter, possibly with braised asparagus on the side.

I was thinking about salmon patties earlier this morning (while still recuperating from yesterdays over-indulgence). Asparagus sounds like an excellent side, with a little dill mayo on the side for both.

I admit, the siren call of Black Friday is having a draw on me. Hey, today is payday, my balance looks good, and my car insurance went down. What better time to get a 2M rig for the car?

Still, I hesitate. Bonus at work should be good this year, and there needs to be an HF rig in my future.

May I recommend a product called Kentucky Kernel Flour? Also makes excellent fried chicken.

I was going to ignore it all, until the commies spent Black Friday making life difficult for everyone. Assaulting the 5-0 at a Christmas Tree lighting?
