Iron Horse Replaces Tin Bird?

Pan Am -- remember Pan Am?  It's a railroad now.

Maybe it's my Florida bias, but it's not as classy as the Clippers or the flying boats. Their Miami terminal is now Miami City Hall; some of the hangars are still in use as a marina, and one was turned into an auditorium--the one in which Jim Morrison was arrested for indecent exposure--which is being demolished this month. You can find pictures on Wikipedia on the page for Dinner Key.

Okay, now you've had your trivia overdose of the day....

At least when they crash, they won't have as far to fall. (Says an occasionally terrified former Pan Am flyer.)

Huh. I'm in NH and I didn't know this outfit bought the name/logo rights. I wonder how they thought that was a good idea?

Bear: Per the Wikipedia article, they may have a certain degree of difficulty in telling good ideas from bad ones.

E.B.: Yeah, "Spinning Trippe" may be the very best part. :)

Kish: At least the terminal building lives on!
