Stupid Party: Also Tone-Deaf

Really, Republicans? Really?

Really: "U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar may have lost his primary last month, but two of his biggest supporters were chosen Friday to replace a pair of his opponent's backers on the Republican National Committee."

Headdesk. Or, why I can't favor the GOP over the LP.

You don't REALLY expect a political party to say, "Hmmm... maybe it's NOT just a bad candidate and / or the voters being too stupid to comprehend and embrace our sheer, total, self-evident brilliance; maybe we're actually doing something wrong", do you?

The Old Boy Club in action is really something to see.

I long ago gave up on the LP ever becoming the kind of political party that actually puts up candidates and gets them elected. I'd love to be proven wrong.

In the meantime, I've started hanging out with local Republican's. It does involve working with people I disagree with on some important issues, but the areas of agreement are much larger than I would have with the local Democrats.

Politics is messy. The alternatives are messier.
