Linguistic Patrol: Idiotic Writer And/Or Mayor Is An Idiot

Found at The Hill:

[NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg] called on the NRA to accept what he said are "reasonable" limitations on firearms, such as restricting guns to minors, criminals and people with psychiatric or substance-abuse problems.

[Emphasis mine]  Got that?  If you're not a minor, a criminal, loopy in the legal sense or on dope or booze, no guns for you!

     Er, what?

Y'know, I'm not sure who screwed that up, the reporter or Hizzoner, but I don't want either one of 'em writing gun laws or any other kind, either. Their brains are broken.

"English, [deleted]!  Do you speak it?"

Obviously Hizzoner doesn't know his own state's (as well as federal) gun laws. Being as how those people mentioned are already forbidden to buy or possess firearms.

I really wish someone would tell Mickey Bloomberg that his Jurisdiction ends in the middle of the Hudson River, and that he should stay in in his own Backyard. Because if he comes on my Lawn.....

I'm with Les. If he stays on his side of the river, everyone will be better off.

This could be read as "guns to x are restricted." Did I mention that Engrish are tricksy?

Of course, you would want reality, perfection and common sense - from the media or the politician? They already have proven lack of ability to read, comprehend and follow the 2nd amendment.

You are such a good person.

Well, Bloomberg's a nasty, diagnosable little tyrant. He obsesses about how big a soda someone else drinks, and thinks that he can determine what a correct level of pain medication is, although not an M.D. By definition, no restriction he dreams up could ever be "reasonable".

There's your problem, right there.
