...When you dread the human contact of opening your mail.
Sheesh. I'm a monster.

Wait, you get mail from people?
Most of my mail comes from banks and advertising agencies.
You're not a monster.
Hardly.
Be gentle with yourself.

You open your mail?
The bulk of mail I receive hits the trash can unopened before I even get to the house. Even the bills, which I tear up first. Just getting the bill lets me know to go online and pay it.
*personal* mail? Whats that? Cannot recall the last year... or decade.... I got personal mail.
I love to people watch, I just wish I was invisible to them :)

Doorbell rang yesterday. Mrs. Drang asked if I was going to get it. "No."
"Don't you want to know who it is?"
"No."
So she got up to see, and it was the people form the next block over with the same street number, once again the substitute mailman had gotten streets mixed up. We usually just circle the street number and put it back in the box.
Don't remember what it was, anything she handed me got recycled immediately.
A good day
is when you can throw
all the mail away.

How things change depending on the circumstances.
These days, I mostly agree with the tone of the post and comments.
However, many moons ago, when stationed in Korea, I counted any day where there wasn't something in the mailbox from the world, even a bill or junk mail, as a total waste.
Of course, I just got mail from real people this weekend.
Christmas cards are pretty much the only personal correspondence I get in paper form.
Do you get lots of Christmas cards, also?
That's not being a monster, that's being... delicate. A monster would have no such fragility.
C'on, R, get a grip. Go Bowling...... ; ^ )
Last time I actually sent and received letters in the mail was shoot 2002. It was the only way to communicate in basic. Other then that it is only for packages. Packages are very nice...letters are from soul sucking companies or bill collectors for fake bills.
I still exchange letters and cards with a bunch of folks, so I must be a sort of dinosaur long thought extinct.
That's okay, even a T-Rex must have had friends.
Though it might have been difficult to write with those short arms.
I mean how could a T-Rex hold the letter far enough away as they got older to see what was written?
Just wondering.
Funny how we can be reclusive but still put our thoughts out on a blog for all to see.I ain't going out until until the New Year. The woods don't count of course
