April Indy BlogMeet

I'm still darned if I know where to have it but it looks like the 24th is the only open date I've got. (Yes, it's Easter. That's likely to be a problem. --I'm not very good at this stuff).

Can't find a Chinese place that's open early enough (or late enough) Sunday afternoon. I'm open to suggestions. Back to the Brew Pub?

I'm from Indianapolis and would be interested in the Indy Blog meetings, if you could provide me with any information would be much appreciated.

24th is, obviously, fine with me. And I'm always game for the Brewpub (although it makes me sad that they dropped the Mexican white wings from the menu. Bastiges.)

Greg, we usually have them more or less monthly on Sunday afternoons (3:00 p.m.) and announce the location here.

I think this month it's going to be the Broad Ripple Brew Pub.

24th sounds good. Is beer kosher l'Pesach? :)

24th @ Brewpub is fine here, too.

Re: Chinese, you had asked earlier about dim sum... can't help on that one. But Yen Ching at 92nd/Michigan is open 11:30a-9p on Sundays with buffet from 11:30-2:30.

92nd?!? That's practically Northern Indiana!

(I am so Broad Ripple-centric. :D )

The 24th is EASTER! Sorry, family obligations...

Uh-oh! Yeah, I messed that up, Frank. H'mm, some places might not even be open and some people might not wanna get too secular taht day.

...I wondered where Yen Ching had got to; they used to be behind the Target at Nora. I was wondering about the one at 86th and Westfield, too (Mark Pi?), but looks like that location is gone.

Is beer kosher for Passover? ...Ummm...

Oh, I'm no good at such matters but this is an easy one: when was there ever beer made except by fermentation? And who would drink it if there was? ("Why, yes, it's fully-symthesized beer! We catlize it up here in the lab between batches of UMDH!")

I was gonna say; the operative ingredient in beer is yeast, so ... no.

(Although I'm glad you brought it up, Nathan; I would have glibly ordered one without thinking and not realized my mistake until later. Shows you how much experience I have with alcohol ... )

I'm down with the BrewPub. Not much of an Easter person, myself, so the 24th is fine.

Mark's in Nora closed a couple of months back, and they just finished demolishing the building. (Have no idea what's going in there.)

Old-fashioned Cantonese-American restaurants are becoming scarce on the north side: We lost two on Keystone over the last year or so.

There's a really good Chinese place in Carmel, at the corner of 116th and Westfield Ave. (I think that's the intersection where Westfield becomes Rangeline, IIRC.) It's a little far north and it's not quite old-school Cantonese-American, but it's darn tasty. (I've yet to see Caucasian in there besides SigOth and myself.)

H'mmm. Do we know their hours? Time I GTS, I 'spect.

I remember that time we accidentally held it on the Feast Day of The Drowning of R'lyeh and that guy who drove all the way from Wisconsin got his mind devoured by an Old One...

If Wayne (not The Other Wayne) hadn't brought along that heavily-dog-eared and annotated copy of The Necronomicon, we'd have been boned for sure.

What about those of us from Chicago that have a small blog (http://thecancerward-scout26.blogspot.com/ ) and happen to be in Indy to visit my folks for the weekend ? Can I come too?

YES! Yesyesyes! BlogMeets are open-invitation feasts. Everyone is welcome, though they have to pay their own way unless they're unusually entertaining. ;)

Shermlock wins the Coolest Link Of The Month award, FWIW... :)
