...I don't know much about climate (ask me after my 500th birthday) but can't we just all agree that the weather generally sucks and leave it at that?
No. No, we can't; now one of the Bigtime Experts is sayin' we might get us a mini Ice Age, just in time for my arthritic years. Nathan has the link, plus pithy comment of his own.

If it gets any colder I'm going to have to double up on the Naproxen.
And the bourbon.
As Mark Twain has been quoted, "Climate is what we expect, weather is what we get."
I'm just thankful that a combination of cold weather (this winter) and the release of the UEA CRU e-mails and computer codes has finally revealed (to the un-informed) the AGW snake-oil salemen for the con-men that they are.
What would be funny (if they didn't have the fellow-travelers in the media with them) is that they're still trying to run the con, even after they've been blown.
Hmmm. Sometime back in 2006 Khabibullo Abdusamatov, a Russian astronomer, predicted a mini ice age for the middle of this century based on sunspot activity. He expected cooling to begin in 6-7 years... so we're two years ahead of schedule according to him.
I was really counting on those two extra years to lay in firewood and scotch...
Does this mean that Algore has to return that shiny Nobel thingy?
And if him, why not a more recent and even more prominent winner?
At the moment the Russian Academy seems evenly divided between the "Manuder Minimum" and the "Ice Age Now" advocates. I don't know about that, but I do know the Earth has lost all the heating it gained since 1946.
And it seems we are going down the temperature change trail backwards, at a much faster rate than history suggests the Maunder Minimum cooled things off. A small point for the Ice Age Now types.
This YouTube clip shows how it could pan out:

Typical, one fabricated catastrophe after another to distract the electorate while they run the country into the ground.
