Wish I could come...I have other scheduled events on Sunday the 26th.
Will try to make the meet.
We'll be up visiting your fair city from Wed - Fri, but my schedule won't permit us to stay til Sunday. Bummer!
I'll try to make it.
And I even have cash for the show...
Count me in.
Not sure if I'll go to the Fun Show.
I'm pretty good components wise for now.
I'm thinking about the fun show. Will definitely be at the meet.
Please forgive being off-topic (hope you enjoy your blog meet), but Tam informs us that you grill a mean steak. Can you share some tips?
Yes, I have had good luck with steaks -- I'm hoping to do a post.
Basic rules: Hardwood lump charcoal. No lighter fluid. Closed grill. Good meat. Season with salt and pepper only. Clean grill itself with vinegar and paper toweling (no soap!) and dry it over the fire. Cook the steaks and after the first flip, put a small pat of European-style butter atop each one (Kerrygold or Pulgra work for me). Do not overcook. And that's all.
When done, just close up all the vents and leave the grill to go out. You end up with a nice bed of half-burned charcoal that relights quickly; to light it, I make a teepee of twigs with wadded up paper inside, one page of newsprint or less, and stack charcoal over it. Usually lights with one of two matches; let it burn and get going (several minutes, varies), then spread out the coals.
Thank you.
