The Higher, The Fewer

The older I get, the more parts of my life come to resemble a controlled fall.  Oh, gravity will win; it's just a matter of making the best possible bargain before things go too far.

I saw a T-shirt the other day which I will end up purchasing:

My favorite childhood memory is my back not hurting

Also, as we age we all become more aware of the "Law of Diminishing Choices".

I once read that if you are over forty years old, wake up, and don't hurt anywhere it means you are dead.

Back in the day (1950s or so), we had a sign in the physics department: "Support your local physicist - repeal the law of gravity."

To "Anonymous": Those of us in our 9th decade think that those in their 7th or 8th are pikers. *chuckling* (If I last that long, I'll let you know what those of us in our 10th decade think of those in their 9th.)
