The La-bor-a-tory

At the doctor's office, getting lab work done, which I have been putting off.  Blood draw, mostly.

Their equipment is not cooperating. But the tech is good with a needle.

No food for 12 hours. Bagels beckon!

That makes a lot of difference!
I've had vampires who practically immobilized the arm with bruising, versus those I didn't even feel. I thought seriously of breaking a nurse's nose, once...
It IS an art! :-)

Next time, load up on water before the visit. This has a dual benefit; first, it makes the urine sample a relief instead of a task, and second, it plumps up those veins, making them nice juicy targets.

I get blood work done frequently and ultra-hydration is the secret to a painless draw.

Not those tests, Raz. It's all blood work. They're concerned about blood sugat, thyroid levels, and various old-lady concerns.

Last time I had one of those, it took the phleb three sticks (two in one arm, one in the other) to find a vein. I can't imagine how. Glad it went better for you.
