Skynet Gets Sniffy

Wow, when the machines start saying it....
Maybe I am no fun.  Or is it saying if the transaction had gone through, I could have had enough fun?

I think you're fun. Who cares what some bucket of bolts and wires thinks?

Off topic, amazon has these at thirty seven bucks, Baofeng UV5RA. Worth it?

I like my UV5R a lot -- but get a programming cable; you'll go mad trying to program one from the keypad. Baofeng has software and there's a nifty "universal" ham package that will program a lot of different radios, including the Baofengs.

Story of my life.

Lots of free information on the Baofeng lineup at http://www.miklor.com . I'd definitely second the motion on getting a cable and using CHIRP to program it.

Who cares if a stupey big brother computer thinks or fun or not. We don't come here because we think you're dull!

For the price of the BaoFengs, it's worth getting a couple as spares or for a Significant Other to use in emergency. (Licensed or not, in emergency.)
Ditto the programming cable, may be an additional antenna and battery pack, too. (The AA one, as well as a spare rechargeable.)
