The Lugar Cannot Change Its Spots

Or, as they say on Discworld, "The leopard cannot change its shorts." Terry Pratchett's never explained the aphorism, as far as I know.

Indiana's likewise unexplained "Republican" Senator, the Horrib-, er, the Honorableness The Richard Green "Dick" Lugar, has given his support to the Obama administration's pick for the U. S. Supreme Court, Ms. Elena Kagan.

The Senator did not say, "Might as well relax and try to enjoy it, maybe even fake an orgasm and hope for a tip," but one has to wonder. Y'know, Bub -- may I call you "Bub," Senator? -- some of us count on the opposition party to do some serious opposing. It's called "checks and balances," not "lubricant application."

Monkey wear pants.

Leopards wear shorts.

If you have a lot of tree climbing and slinking about water holes, wouldn't you want to be comfortable?

Lugar's ability to deceive the voters is one of the things that boggles my mind. He is the original RINO, not that being a Republican is all that great, but I wish he would just come declare his affiliation with the Dems and the liberals because he has been one for years; unofficially, of course.

He needs the same treatment his buddy Arlen Specter got.

I generally call false flag politicians "nominal." It seems to get their goat, for some reason.

And yes, "The Lugar record is mixed on Second Amendment issues, and generally no better than fair on economic issues. At 78, Lugar is one of the older Senators and he will be up for re-election in 2012. Perhaps the Indiana TEA Party will have some input on Lugar’s replacement."

Hopefully. And hopefully Lugar's replacement will respect the Constitution and know which end of a gun a bullet comes out of.

At least here in Ohio our RINO (Voinavich) is hanging it up. Now if MAINE would get rid of those two....."Gentlewomen" and S.C. takes out "I'm am Conservative and I'm voting for Kagan" Graham....
