...But it sounds hilarious, Evinrude. Er, "even rude," that is. But totally SFW.

I forget if it was Johnson or Evinrude that built his first outboard to get accross the lake fast enough to get icecream to his sweety. I like that story, young love creating a thriving buisness. Choaks me up a little.
That's teh funny, all right.
Johnson's "Sea Horse" was a fisherman's household name in the 1920's, and Ole Evinrude's "kicker" was a close second.
The kicker was the one inspired by ice cream lust. The "Sea Horse" was inspired by walnut lust.
As I recall from campground conversation, both men had models on the market circa 1923. A far cry from today's MerCruiser.

In the 60s at the Westborough Massachusetts 1/4 mile high banked oval, there was a midget racer powered by a converted Evinrude motor, that would reliably police up the back of the pack. Don't look for it, I'm informed that the location is now covered by Condo City.
Takes a better man than I to watch that one with a straight face!
