Gotta do it. All the other kiiiiidz are answering the questionne: "What knife is on your person right now?"
Three:Kershaw in right front pocket, Japanese carpenter's knife in right rear and the Leatherman Wave in a belt holster. That's main, backup and multitool.
Too many? Piffle! The heap would've been a heap bigger if I'd been carrying my purse. I have brittle fingernails.

I wish to know more about the carpenters knife, please.
Ditto Carteach-O.
The one I carry was purchased from Garret Wade. (Warning, you will probably spend money if you look around the website!) The blade holds a keen edge but don't use it to pry with -- this one has had the pointy end reground. It's hard steel laminted to softer steel. Opens one-handed. There is no spring -- in use, you hold it open (if needed) with thumb pressure on the little tab. I like it.
Lee Valley offers a similar knife with a slightly larger blade for a little less. (This is another site I dare you wander around without at least wanting to buy something).
Both companies have a good reputation for quality.
GW also sells a "douk-douk" knife that I'd like a closer look at.
Er, "laminted" should be "laminated."
I've one of those "carpenter's" knifes and can vouch not only for it's utility - but the dangers of wandering the Garret Wade site.
Darn you Roberta, now you've got me wanting one of those carpenter's knives again.
It's now on my wish list, along with this one from that same site.
The question is, which one should I get first, and will I still be able to get the little free pocket knife with it after payday Friday?
Oops! Wrong link. I meant this one!
Oh, GW! Tool porn.
When I first saw your photo my first thought was that you carried a douk-douk; most people haven't the slightest idea what they are. I wonder if one inspired the other?
Jake & (Rx) - I also have one of these "Laminated Folding 4" Japanese Knife". The lock is "meh"; it is however a nice garden harvest knife. It will also scare the living s*&t out of anybody who walks up behind you unexpectedly - it looks wicked, but is not strongly built enough for a fighting knife. And it'll rust. Damn you, Garet Wade.
