Indianapolis has some police issues; most of them involve guys who should be better friends with Bill W. than they are. It could be worse; we could be Canton, where Officer Daniel "I should have took two steps back, pulled my Glock 40 and just put 10 bullets in your ass and let you drop," Harless has won reinstatement (pending medical clearance*) to their police force. This would be the policeman caught on tape at least three times making death threats to harmless citizens.
He'd also be the reason I advise everyone to give Canton a wide berth. Or, as the arbitrator pointed out, "the City has not severely disciplined officers who engaged in serious instances of misconduct akin to, or worse than, the actions charged against officer Harless in this proceeding." --Here, let me translate: It's not just one rogue cop with a bad case of PTSD, it's a systemic pattern throughout the department!
D00d. Not. Helping.
Overview story and links to Harless Behaving Badly videos here. Tellya what, if he promises to never, ever get a job where he has power over the public, I'd take up a collection to treat the PTSD he probably does have -- likely self-induced but no less real for that. I expect instead he'll fight to get back to carrying the badge, the club, the handcuffs, the gun...and the attitude that makes him a danger to all he encounters.

Yeah, Clinton is OFF my travel plans...
In far too many places, "The Thin Blue Line" doesn't stand for what it once did. Where once it stood for the police protecting the citizenry from the criminal element, it now stands for the police walking in lock-step, protecting themselves. If you aren't LE, you don't matter anymore.
Sad.

Yikes.
Where's Jayne when we need him?
This attitude is prevalent in much of urban Ohio. The whole LEO culture needs a reboot, they watch too many episodes of COPS and nonsense B movies and think this is how you treat people. Life imitating art.
WHEN AGENTS OF GOVERNMENT CANNOT OR WILL NOT DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN CRIMINALS
AND CITIZENS GOING ABOUT THEIR LAWFUL OCCASIONS AND OR ACT AT ALL TIMES IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER WE ARE ALL IN GREAT TROUBLE
DONT USE PTSD AS AN EXCUSE PTSD CAN BE TREATED THE MISCREANT NAY BE A NO GOOD COP AND A ROTTEN EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING IT IS SO DIFFICULT TO FIND GOOD PUBLIC SERVANTS NOW A DAYS
I have been to Canton. There is nothing wrong with the city that a moderate-yield nuc won't fix.
I'm gonna be busy in the kitchen tomorrow so a pre-emptive happy turkey day to you Rx, hope you're feeling better...Tam too. Beside the usual turkey, dressing, taters, etc, I need to make 2 pecan pies. Will probably make 3 and forgo the having the turkey myself and focus on a pie and the ensuing sugar rush for the next couple of daze..
Having Grown up in the Akron/Canton Area, here's how to implement Canton Avoidance. Coming from the South, take I-77 North, pick up U.S. 30 West until you hit Route 21 North/South on the West side up to Akron, then cross over on I-76. Reverse route if coming from the North.
