Another Day, Another Long To-Do List

...Another big headache.  Would that were a metaphor!  Hugely clumsy this morning, too, though better as the Vitamin I kicks in.

Bank, drugstore, taxes.  Supermarket, home-improvement store (gravel rake, potting soil, short treated 4x4); Locally Grown Gardens (flowers, if they have any left; I am darned well gonna have some flower-type flowers out front this year).  Rake leaves, look at tree swing (it needs refinished, the polyurethane is coming up in strips.  Linseed oil or spar varnish?), clear off patio, remove crate-table from ham shack and replace with dumpster-bounty desk (in pieces, so add desk assembly to the list)...

At least I can probably do the first three on my motorscooter, Deus volente.  And it could be worse -- consider, for example, the case of reporter Susannah Cahalan, who went scarily bonkers from what turned out to be a very obscure but treatable autoimmune disease; she recovered and wrote a fascinating book but OMG.  A migraine and some fumblefingers is nothing.  (If you want to read Brain On Fire, please use the Amazon link at Tam's blog. Costs you nothing extra and keeps another talented writer from starving.).

RECOMMEND AN ENHANCED NUTRITIONAL REGIMEN INCLUDING VITAMINS AND OTHER
SUPPLEMENTS

AS TO YOUR SWING SAND TO BARE WOOD SMOOTH APPLY HOT 50% LINSEED 50% TURPENTINE OVER A DOUBLE BOILER(2 COFFEE CANS WITH WIRE COAT HANGER BAILS) APPLY SOLUTION HOT LET IT ABSORB IN THE WOOD SAND SMOOTH BETWEEN COATS WHEN FULLY ABSORBED AND DRY USE A GENUINE MARINE SPAR VARNISH (NOT THE POLYETHYLENE TYPE) USE LIGHT COATS AND SAND IN BETWEEN COATS OF VARNISH THIS
METHOD MAY ALSO BE USED FOR ALL FORMS OF BRIGHT WORK WITH GOOD RESULT THE IMPROVISED HOT PLATE /DOUBLE BOILER SET UP SHOULD BE DONE OUTSIDE NOT ONLY FOR VENTILATION BUT ALSO TO LIMIT DAMAGE AS THE HOT SOLUTION IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE A GOOD FIRE EXTINGUISHER SHOULD BE KEPT NEARBY

IS ROSEHOLME COTTAGE DO FOR MARCONI TOWERS ANYTIME SOON
IM SURE IT WOULD ENHANCE YOUR TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION CAPABILITIES

When I refinished our outdoor swing a few years ago I tried the 50/50 linseed-turpentine mix and the swing remained sticky for six months. I did not use a hot mixture which must have been the problem.

I have had very good luck with marine spar varnish both on boats and on the front door of my home which catches direct sunlight at least five hours per day.

1. Look, there's nerve damage. This is not something that can be healed or even treated, period. I spent many years and thousands of dollars to learn that. The wonder is not that I get migraines' the wonder is that I an mot in severe, intractable pain 24/7/365. I talk about my headaches the way people talk about the weather, and for the same reason: I can't do much about it except wear a coat and/or put up an umbrella as needed.

2. Thanks for the finishing advice! It'll be awhile before I can do much other than taking it off the ropes and out of the weather, which I should have done last fall.

3. Towers are highly unlikely -- cost/danger/zoning. I just hope the tree in the front yard does not fall, as it is just about the only option for one end of the "big" antenna.

P.S. Anon, did you use *boiled* linseed oil? AFAIK, the plain stuff won't crosslink: it never dries.
