Now Everyone Will Want To Do It
No, dammit. It does not matter how drunk you are, you still cannot use a minor child as your designated driver. ...But some ijit has tried it again. It sounds so familiar!

I can't do this, I can't do that, I have to wear pants, pffffft, you're not the boss of me!
If we lived in a more anarchic society, it would be okay. As long as the kid got the drunk home safe and sound, there you go. Being able to reach the controls and manage them in a way to get a ton of metal from here to there between the lines. Ask any farm kid who has to maneuver a lot bigger stuff across and down 400W or 700N in the formerly farm but now growing suburban sprawl. There's 40 year olds who handle this with less ability than these kids did.
Then again, I'd let the kid have a nip of the fruit of the vine to make it not some great big allure so he won't become an instant lush at drinking age. And if he turned out to be an alcoholic, be able to take care of things now while he's still under the roof instead of after he's grown and gone.
